This module will convert the offered audio signal to a HE-AAC (v1 or v2) format. Important to remember is that this HE-AAC uses a 960 sample window. We explain the difference here<\/em><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The audio signal can be presented to the “ODR-AudioEnc” module in different ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n – via an (external) sound card, in AES-EBU or on line level<\/p>\n\n\n\n – via a (web)stream<\/p>\n\n\n\n – via a sound file<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since a digital conversion takes place in the “ODR-AudioEnc” module, it must be taken into account that the quality of the offered audio signal is as high as possible: WAV music files as source and at least 96 kbps AAC as STL<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. It is also important to provide sufficient headroom<\/a><\/em><\/strong> so that the input is not overdriven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “ODR-AudioEnc” will send the HE-AAC (v1 or v2) signal via tcp to the “ODR-DabMux<\/a><\/em><\/strong>” module. This offers the great advantage that the DAB+ audio encoder can be placed in the studio of any radio station. The HE-AAC signal can then be sent to the “ODR DabMux” via network or the Internet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Installation instructions and how to use ODR-AudioEnc are described at the “ODR-AudioEnc github<\/a><\/em><\/strong>“. To make choosing the different options of the DAB audio encoder easier, there is the “ODR-EncoderManager<\/a><\/em><\/strong>“. But we will come back to that too later<\/p>\n\n\n\n This module allows adding PAD (Program Associated Data) per radio broadcast: song info, program info, MOT (Multimedia Object Transfer) slideshows, and so on.
