Over the past few months, we have been busy working on the “synchronisation story at SFN”. Various sources report that it is not always easy to keep different transmitter sites nicely in sync. A DAB+ transmitter that is out of sync will interfere with another transmitter in the “Single Frequency Network”, causing the audio to be interrupted in that transmission area.
To make the technically complex synchronisation story as readable as possible, we have posted already several technical articles online in recent weeks:
A few more short articles will be posted online in the coming weeks, but the ultimate goal is to publish a clearly understandable article about ‘DAB+ SFN synchronisation’.
Those interested in DAB+ who like to get involved in the practical side of things should definitely try out the ‘DabMux configurator’ tool that we recently found. Click on the link in ODR – part 1 or check the DAB+ links page.
We wish everyone a happy end of year.
Stay tuned!
